From bbbranch at olympus.net Mon Jan 2 17:42:08 2006 From: bbbranch at olympus.net (Jeff Chapman) Date: Mon Jan 2 17:40:18 2006 Subject: [Equestrian] Work Party in January Message-ID: <000001c61006$ebca9c10$73820543@bbbranch> Larry Scott Memorial Trail: On January 7, there will be a work party hosted by the Buckhorn Chapter of the Backcountry Horsemen on the Larry Scott Trail. We will be clearing and constructing new horse/single track trail across the County owned parcel on Cape George Road. Our work effort last December accomplished roughing in new horse trail on the east half of the parcel, on both sides of the new Larry Scott Trail parking lot. Horses have already used the section from the parking lot going east, even though the tread is still not fully developed (this is the section that Bob and Juelie had started at the last work party). This Saturday, we hope to finish brushing out the trail all the way to Sand Road. In addition, we must get a reasonable tread established with hand tools on the steep sections so that horses can pass safely. Time permitting, we will improve the tread so that the horse trail can be officially recognized as part of the Larry Scott Trail system (and signed as such). We will be meeting at the new Cape George parking lot (about .8 miles down Cape George Road on the left from Discovery Road [east end}) at 10 AM. Hand tools (clippers, pulaskis, etc) will be available on site. Please bring gloves and wear good boots. All volunteers willing to help are encouraged to come. If there are any questions, please contact Jeff Chapman at bbbranch@olympus.net. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
